How is the due date calculated?
Using Naegele's rule: LMP + 280 days (40 weeks). This assumes a 28-day cycle. Longer cycles shift the date later.
How accurate is the due date?
Only about 5% of babies arrive on their due date. Most are born within 2 weeks before or after. First-time mothers tend to go longer.
What if my cycle is irregular?
Ultrasound dating is more accurate for irregular cycles. Your healthcare provider will confirm the due date at your first scan.
