Frequently Asked Questions
How much can images be upscaled?
You can upscale images up to 4x their original resolution. For example, a 400x400 image becomes 1600x1600 pixels. We also offer 2x upscaling for faster processing.
Is my image data private?
Yes, 100% private. All processing happens locally in your browser using the ESRGAN AI model. Your images are never uploaded to any server.
Why is the first image slow to process?
On first use, the tool downloads a ~5MB AI model. This model is cached in your browser, so subsequent images process much faster.
What is the maximum input image size?
We support images up to 10MB in file size. For best performance, we recommend images under 2000x2000 pixels. Larger images may take longer or use significant memory.
What image formats are supported?
The tool supports JPG, PNG, and WebP as input formats. The output is always PNG for maximum quality preservation.
Will upscaling fix blurry photos?
The AI enhances details and sharpens edges during upscaling, but it cannot recreate information that was never captured. Extremely blurry or low-quality images may not improve significantly.
